Martin Allais

I recently discovered the work of director Martin Allais. The piece I was attracted is a short advert for the Heineken Jazz Festival. The piece is similar in style to the interactive music video I looked at called Labuat. Using ink as a tool to produce animation. The piece works well and consists of typography building up and making the imagery throughout the piece something like a rotoscope effect. The piece has a layered 3D effect which works well and draws you into the piece. As the advert is for a Jazz festival the imagery obviously relate to that area with music festival references of people dancing, music notes and summery settings. The piece is really effective and relates to the target audience it is aiming at (young to middle aged adults) and advertises the event well.
