Corin Hardy (Prodigy Music Video)

I came across the director Corin Hardy and ‘Academy Films’ earlier this year and recently went back to look at to of there work online. Corin recently has just completed the new music promo for a track entitled ‘Warriors Dance’ from the Prodigy’s latest album ‘invaders must die’.

The music video is great and has a quirky feel about it, and it made me laugh when first watching it. The piece consists of cigarette packets which tear apart in to human figures. These figures then take on their own personalities and begin to party. From further inspection into the making of this piece I discovered that it consists of both live action with 3D composited animation (these cigarette characters).

The CGI and live action shots are seamlessly pulled together into the piece. Overall a really unique music video that stands apart from the glossy, plastic looking music videos that we are continuously bombarded with.
