Labuat

http://soytuaire.labuat.com/
I came across this website recently and thought it was beautiful and effective. The website is in another language (Spanish I think) and basically is a interactive flash music video. After the loading stage of the website is complete you press ‘play’ and the clip allows you to interact and draw the music you are listening to. The piece revolves around a brush stroke effect and is continuously moving left to right like it is on a journey. The brush stoke reacts to the movement of the your mouse, the sound and rhythm of the music, and the lyrics. The piece has an illustrative raw feel to it and uses typography to represent some of the lyrics. The whole composition is in time with the music, slowing down when the music slows and speeding up or climaxing wen the music does. Sound effects and pinnacle sections of the music are represented with other imagery and styles of brushes. The piece reminded me of earlier work in the 1st year wen working within the basic design brief. In which I used ink and stop motion to create movement and rhythm. Overall a really effective, simple and beautiful piece that gets the viewing interested and absorbed within the website.
